The Sol system is home to many living species throughout its many planets, moons and satellites. Starfaring technology has been developed by several of these species and shared with one another and their neighbors, allowing Solar denizens to grow from a scattering of isolated worlds into a bustling community. The vastness of a Solar federation offers a lot of freedom for anyone who wants to see cultures not their own, find opportunities unavailable on their home world or seek out some pocket of space where a technological panopticon can't find them- space calls uniquely to each individual and with the shared gifts of technology there is plenty to find.
It is cold in space, so be sure to dress warmly.
Titan Garden is the central hub for the Sol system's outer belt, serving as a commercial and social nexus, as well as providing emergency services for starfarers from the belt to Jupiter, Saturn, Caelus, Neptune and Pluto. Built at the base of a small peninsula, the Garden is connected to a lake of liquid methane, which the station processes and converts to water to sustain its artificial habitat.
Outside the Garden's walls sits Old Titan Station, the first colony built on Saturn's moon. Constructed by Martian expeditions, Old Titan Station served as a stepping stone to building the domed Garden as a joint project between Mars, Terra and Neptune. While it lacks the creature comforts of its companion, Old Titan Station's design as a landing site for very large ships carrying construction resources has made its conversion to a starport an easy one, providing an easy place to dock for visitors to the station.
Titan Garden, by contrast, was built to provide a comfortable living environment for starfarers of all ports of origin, both visiting and as permanent residents. The domed colony is split up into a number of districts, with commercial, residential, industrial and entertainment districts serving the needs of both business and pleasure visits- the Garden even has an aquatic district for water-breathing starfarers who come from wetter homeworlds.
The central pillar of the Garden houses the station's primary climate control mechanisms. Climate is carefully regulated, designed to fluctuate between chilly autumns, snowy winters and chilly springs to allow long-term residents a sense of seasons passing. Due to Titan's lacking a molten core the resources needed to sustain warm summers are not freely available. The real key to the Garden's design is its namesake upper deck, housing a lush arboretum which serves as a natural filter to keep the station's air breathable. While starfarers may visit the upper deck, access is strictly regulated by station operators.
Neon signs, walkable streets, buzzing traffic and mass transit color the ground-level life of Titan Garden. Drop in, get some takeout from a Callistan food stand, check out a Venusian theater production or lose some credits in the E-district's famous Mobius Casino. Whatever you find in the Garden, you'll be sure to leave with a story to tell.
